Warped Pans

What can cause a pan to warp?

Extreme temperature changes are what most commonly cause pans to become warped or "out of round." Here are a few examples of what can incite an extreme temperature change while using your pan:

* Washing a hot pain in cold water can cause it to warp. We suggest letting pans cool briefly and then using tepid water to wash them to avoid warping. Always wait until the pan has cooled completely before submerging it fully in water.

* Deglazing pans with cold or chilled liquids. The bigger the difference in temperature between liquid and the pan, the higher chance of warping—so do your best to deglaze with room-temperature liquids when possible.

*Cooking on full heat. We recommend using low to medium heat with most of our cookware. Cooking with extreme heat can cause the center of the pan to heat up faster than the edges, which can lead to warping and other deformations.
