How do I use my Locking/Straining pot lid?

Our Locking and Straining pot lids are designed for easy use and pouring. Please read the following instructions to ensure you're using this type of product safely.

Warning:
*Hot liquid can be dangerous.
*Review ALL instructions provided with your product before use.
*Pots with Locking or Straining lids should NOT be used for deep frying.
*Do NOT use lid handle to lift the pot, always use the side handles.
*ALWAYS POUR AWAY FROM YOU, NOT TOWARD YOU.

General Instructions:
*Make sure the lid is locked before pouring/draining. (To lock lid, turn it clockwise until it stops.)
*Pour/drain liquid away from you into the sink or into a container that you've placed in the sink.
*Use caution when pouring hot liquid, taking care not to splash the liquid.

Straining tips:
For maximum safety and efficiency while draining, do not tilt the pot beyond 45 degrees when pouring. If your lid is equipped with both large and small holes, use the small holes when straining small foods and the large holes when straining large foods.

Locking tips:
To lock the lid, set it on your pot or kettle and turn it clockwise until it stops. Look for the stamped arrows on the lid to help guide insertion and locking if needed. Make sure that the lid is locked securely when using tea kettles, straining pots, or other products with locking lids. Doing so will help avoid injuries that can be caused by steam or hot liquid escaping.
